Do you really have the time for this?

Maybe you're here because you have a growing suspicion that you need to make the time.
Perhaps there's voice, barely audible, drowned out by the noise of living. The one that's telling you things aren't quite right. You want something to change. Or perhaps it feels more like a yell but you're doing your best to keep it at bay, listening to it feels like too big a task. Too daunting.
In amongst all the demands and expectations it's easy to get lost. There's no time or space to listen to that inner voice. The one you know that has some answers to whatever it is you're experiencing.
Coaching is about having someone alongside you listening with purposeful attention. We co-create a space where you can take time to think, to see new possibilities and find creative solutions.
Maybe you're interested in coaching because...
-
You're in the middle of a big life change or there's one coming up
-
You're managing some complex family dynamics
-
You feel stuck in life and not sure what you want
-
There's a lot of conflicting demands on your resources. You feel pulled in all directions
-
You know you're not looking after yourself
-
Things that used to excite you no longer do. You feel a dwindling sense of satisfaction
-
You sense that your work/life balance is out of kilter
-
You are foreseeing or managing the transition into retirement
-
You feel that you have lost your connection with your creativity or another aspect of yourself that you value
-
you feel rather lost or a loss of direction

Or maybe it's none or several of the above. You just know you want something to be different and want space to work out a way forward from where you are so that you can thrive.
What happens in a coaching session?
A coaching session is a collaboration where we
-
give time to you describing what's going on for you, and then identifying a focus for the session.
-
we take time to identify what you want to change, where you want to get to, what would make a difference
-
we work out what you could do to get closer to where you want to be
-
we uncover what the obstacles are - acknowledging your external reality, and bringing into focus the assumptions and beliefs you have about yourself and the world which may be getting in your way
-
we uncover new possibilities and you decide on what you want your next steps to be

I'm there as collaborator and co-creator. It's not about me giving you advice, because we are there to uncover the 'answers' that you are already holding and which become clearer once we take time away from the 'noise'.

Coaching isn't therapy but as an experienced psychotherapist I bring psychological awareness and an understanding of the significance and impact of your emotions and your relationships. This is helpful when we're working to understand what's going on for you and where the solutions lie. It also means that I'm experienced in holding and creating confidential and safe spaces where trust can develop. Having undergone extensive training and with over 20 years of experience in group dynamics and systems I bring an awareness of the significance and impact of the group contexts you live in.
